General Dentistry
For patients who feel anxious, fearful, or have put off dental care for years, IV sedation changes the experience entirely. A small IV line delivers sedative medication directly into your bloodstream, bringing on deep relaxation within minutes. You stay conscious and can respond to Dr. Perry, but most patients remember very little of the appointment afterward.
IV sedation is also the right choice if you have a strong gag reflex, sensitive teeth, or need multiple procedures completed in a single visit. Because you're deeply relaxed throughout, Dr. Perry can often complete more work in one appointment than would otherwise be possible.
Throughout your visit, your blood pressure, oxygen levels, heart rate, and breathing are continuously monitored. The medication can be adjusted in real time, giving us precise control over your comfort from start to finish.
You will need someone to drive you home after your appointment, and we recommend a quiet rest of the day. Most patients are genuinely surprised by how easy the experience is.
If you've been avoiding the dentist because of fear or past experiences, a sedation consultation is a good place to start. We'll walk through your medical history, answer your questions, and confirm whether IV sedation is the right fit for you.

Most patients feel back to normal within a few hours. We recommend taking it easy for the rest of the day after your appointment. Avoid driving, operating machinery, or making important decisions until the following day.
Most dental procedures can be performed under IV sedation, including fillings, extractions, implant placement, root canals, and more involved treatments. It's also a great option if you need several procedures completed and want to get them done in a single visit.
No. IV sedation is not general anesthesia. You remain conscious and can respond to Dr. Perry if needed, but you'll be in a deeply relaxed state. Most patients remember very little of the appointment afterward, which is part of what makes it so effective for people with dental anxiety.
